Brenda McDermott is a proud Palawa woman from the Manegin Community in Lutruwita (Tasmania).

Brenda lives and works on the lands of the Brayakaulung people of the Gunaikurnai Nation. Her focus is to bring forward Aboriginal perspectives in all aspects of life and work; that include truth-telling, self-determination, human rights, leadership, and education. Brenda works with the Victorian Aboriginal Community and the Healthy Forests Foundation to build strong partnerships and is passionate about the healing and stewardship of Country, social justice, health equality and the elimination of racism.
